My studies in Anthroposophy at the Rudolf Steiner College have set my foundation for understanding Self and the gifts that connect us to nature. My non-judgmental and compassionate approach to the whole person can be seen in my training and studies. My education with Paul Dennis's work in neuro-kinesiology at Brain Gym, led me to then study with Svetlana Masgutova for more than 5 years theoretically and clinically in the Masgutova Neurosensory Motor Reflex Integration Method. This led to my first view into the womb and the effects the environment has on the prenate. These studies opened exploration of my own birth through rebirthing and hypnotherapy, leading to an awakening of my own private hypnotherapy practice. My practice has focused primarily on birth regression/birth therapy, and the findings of APPAH have started a beautiful enfoldment into my deeper understanding of the wisdom of the prenate.
Since enrolling and completing the Pre & Prenatal Birth Psychology Educational Training, the teachings have woven into my works, better explaining what I have been experiencing with my clients-- they have been invaluable to my practice by giving me the language to better support them. The training has also enabled the expansion of my understanding of educating parents and the community through my additional studies as a doula, midwifery assist/student and completion of my BS in Alternative Medicine. I have noticed a very different approach that is organically happening, especially when I teach about childbirth and lactation support. The intelligence of the pre and prenatal works have sparked a need for a community outreach and has lead me to start a bi-weekly Free Mindful Birth Talk in my area that paints a beautiful tapestry of birth for the 21st century in the hopes of awakening the community to the intelligence of the prenate.
Through the births of my own beautifully gifted children, I understand that the experience of childbearing is not an isolated segment but a continuum. It is a relationship that flows naturally through conception with pregnancy, flowing into birth, postpartum and child raising. It is an evolving process that is woven into life; and by evoking the empowerment of the mind, body and spirit, we live a whole life. Through all of the efforts and time that Kate White has put into laying the foundation for this pre and prenatal birth psychology program, I know the intelligence of the prenate will be acknowledged and will lead to calmer and gentler births. I am forever grateful to all the founding fathers and all those that have made this work more accessible to the world. With this pre and prenatal education, I feel I can start a shift that will ripple outward for more compassion and empathy in the birthing community.
